Dental Implants

Dental implants are one of the best ways to restore missing teeth. They are durable, long-lasting, and perfectly blend into your smile. Because they use an artificial root system, implants feel and function just like natural teeth. At New Roc Dental, we can take care of the entire implant process from start to finish to restore your beautiful, healthy smile!

Why Should I Choose Dental Implants?

Dental implants are far and above the best tooth-replacement option. They are made from bio-friendly titanium, which is attached directly to the jaw bone. This artificial root system gives implants an unmatched level of strength and durability.

Other replacement options – such as dentures and bridges – sit on or above the gums. Without an artificial root system, your jaw bone may begin to erode over time. Implants are not only more reliable, but they also protect your jaw and promote bone growth.

Implants feel and look more natural than other options. Because your replacement tooth is attached to the bone, it will not move or shift as you chew. To ensure your implant blends-in with your smile, we will design a custom crown based on the size, shape, and color of your natural teeth.

How Are Implants Placed?

To begin, Dr. Wynter will make an incision in the gums. The implant will be surgically attached to the jaw bone. Over time, the bone will grow around the implant and they will fuse – providing an extra layer of support. It will take several months to fully recover from this procedure.

Once your implant is stable and your mouth has healed, we will place your permanent crown. Dr. Wynter will design your restoration to look and feel like the rest of your teeth. Once your crown is in place, you will be able to eat, speak, and chew normally again.

Do You Do Sinus Grafts?

Our team is equipped for general grafts, placements, and restorations. However, if you need a sinus graft, we will refer you to a specialized dental surgeon. Once your sinus graft has healed, we will complete your implant procedure.

Why Do I Need to Have a Tooth Replaced?

A missing tooth is not just a cosmetic issue – it can also cause irreparable damage to the rest of your mouth.  Over time, your surrounding teeth may shift and fall into the hole. This will affect your bite and may make it harder to eat and speak. Without a root system, your jaw bone could also weaken and erode. Dental implants can keep your natural teeth in place, protect your bone structure, and restore the appearance of your smile!

Am I a Candidate for Dental implants?

Unfortunately, not everyone can receive dental implants. If your jaw bone is too thin or your gums are unhealthy, you may not be a candidate for implants. During your consultation, Dr. Wynter will examine your mouth, gums, and bone structure to determine if this procedure is right for you. If not, there are several other beautiful tooth replacement options available!

If you think you may be a candidate for dental implants, contact our office today at 914-235-8065 to schedule a consultation. Together, we can decide if implants are the right option for you.
