How Does Teeth Whitening Work?
At New Roc Dental, we use Philips Zoom teeth whitening technology. This method works by using a combination of peroxide-rich whitening gels and a special LED lamp. When we apply the gel to your teeth, the hydrogen peroxide will immediately begin to break down and remove stains. Once we place the lamp over your mouth, the gel will activate and work more effectively!
What is The Whitening Process?
To begin, we will place the gel over your teeth, turn on the lamp, and let everything sit for about 15 minutes. Then you can rinse, and we will repeat the process. This method is completely harmless. You should not feel any discomfort during or after your treatment. We will also provide you with a pair of goggles to keep your eyes safe from the lamp.
After we have done this three times, your treatment will be finished! In under one hour, you can enjoy a smile that is up to 8 shades lighter!
Is Whitening Permanent?
The life of your whitening treatment will depend on your hygiene habits and diet. Brushing and flossing at least two times every day will help you maintain your treatment. Dr. Wynter recommends using a soft-bristled toothbrush and a toothpaste that contains fluoride. Daily care will keep your teeth healthy and beautiful!

For example, patients who drink tea, coffee, and red wine every day are more predisposed to tooth discoloration than those who do not.
